"Women's Aid Integrated Services (WAIS) is a free, confidential and independent organisation for women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse."

from their website
"We are a free, confidential and independent charity working with women and their children who have been affected by domestic abuse.  We have over 30 years experience and we are passionate about helping women and their children to stay as safe as possible and to recover from the harm of domestic abuse.

All our workers are women who are experienced and specially trained to understand domestic abuse and what impact it has on a woman and her children.  Whether bisexual, transgender or heterosexual, we have an expertise in working with women from all backgrounds, including Black, Minority Ethnic and Refugee communities.  We also have indepth knowledge in honor based violence, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, unsettled immigration status and no recourse to public funds.

Which areas do we work in?
We're the key domestic abuse agency operating across Nottingham City and the South of Nottinghamshire.  Our services work in Ashfield, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe and Nottingham city centre.  Not all of our services work in all of these areas.  Use the menu on the left to find out more on each service.

What services do we offer?
We have many services ranging from a 24 hour Freephone helpline, where you or a service user can get help and support, to dealing with the highest risk survivors of domestic abuse and supporting them through the criminal justice system.  Use the menu on the left to find out more about our services.
South County Service Directory - Published in September 2012, this Directory includes information on all our services for the south of Nottinghamshire: Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe and also Ashfield

Working in partnership
WAIS are totally independent but we have strong partnerships with other agencies in the statutory, voluntary and community sectors to tackle domestic abuse and reduce its effects.  We're always keen to build on our links and if you are interested in working with us we'd like to hear from you so please get in touch.

Our aims ...
to reduce the harm caused by domestic abuse
to strengthen families
to empower women and children
to raise awareness about domestic abuse and its effects on women and children"
