Leeds Domestic Violence Helpline

"This helpline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for confidential support, information and access to emergency accommodation for women and men experiencing domestic violence. The lines are also available for agencies wanting to make a referral to one of our services or to learn more about the options available to people experiencing domestic abuse."

Is to protect women and children in Leeds from the damage that domestic violence can inflict on their lives.

We believe that all women and children have the right to live their lives free from fear and harm.

We will achieve this by providing women with choices from a range of services including temporary supported housing, outreach support, telephone support and floating support.

The helpline during office hours

The helpline is staffed by Leeds Women’s Aid 9.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). During these times callers can access support over the phone, or to access emergency accommodation.

This is also the gateway for all self and agency referrals to all Leeds Domestic Violence Services, including:

the IDVA service, run by HALT
the Outreach service for women and men experiencing domestic violence, run by Behind Closed Doors
the Resettlement and Support Group services, run by LWA

Out of hours helpline service

Outside of office hours the helpline is run by Leeds Stonham Refuge. During these times callers can access telephone support and access to emergency accommodation.

Support by text message and email

People needing support who are unable for any reason to contact us by phone can text on 07825 156 087, or email us on administration@leedswomensaid.org.uk. These services are available Monday-Friday, 9.30am – 5pm (except bank holidays).

If you cannot get through please leave a message with details of a safe time to call you back, a worker will return your call as soon as possible.

We can call you back to save your phone credit / bill."
